Smile
Often time, we forget how a genuine smile and laugh looks like when putting on a mask become a social norm.
Looking at this photo makes me smile from the bottom of my heart. What a lovely scene! The best part - the moment freeze and stay forever.
Love it. I hope it makes you smile too!! Have a nice day!

Emptiness
A feeling of emptiness slip-in silently, without you even noticing her existence. Not until the light go off, when you put your head under the blanket trying to get enough rest for another busy day.

She will whisper into your ear, she will break into your dream and laugh into your face, questioning your decision, your purpose of life, trying to deny everything that you fighting for.
4 walls and a empty soul.
What am I here? Why SHE keep holding me back?
And the only sound that draw me back to the reality is the alarm clock. **ck. I'm going to be late again.....

黑与白
A series of B&W series of photo when I wandering on the street of Dalian@China.
Make a turn at the famous tourist spot and there is a small street, the one that hide under the shadow of concrete wall, left-out from the trend of economic growth.

The Moment
Haven't have time to really sort out all the photos from Juan's wedding, but I do want to share this one on a single post. One of my fave, and it's the reason why I like to photograph a wedding.
Nothing fancy about this photo, and maybe a faulty one due to a tight composition. But what attracted me most about it, is the moment captured. The bride's best friend was giving a speech, and from this single frame you will know, how meaningful the words were.
Photograph tells story. Laughs and tears. And it's last forever.

Aliza @ 1 month
You know what is the fun part for my this trip back to Malaysia?

How adorable is she. She will turn up to be a pretty girl for sure. I can imagine that on my next trip back home. :)
2 new members in my family. 1st of course is my sister in law. The other one is this little princess - Aliza. My cousin's daughter. I wander how should I call her, is she my niece? did some search online, it seem like I've to call her first "cousin once removed". Oooo, I'm confused. Let's just call her by name - Aliza. If you know the correct way for the relationship, please comment!!
So enjoy another series of baby portraits, in my favorite B&W style. Hope you like it!!

Baby Portraiture
Visited my friend in Wakayama just before I fly back to Malaysia for a short summer vacation. At there I played with her little niece, a 8 months old new born. He is so cute and adorable. As a photog, I can't resist to pick up the camera and click the shutter.

Taking photos of a baby is not and easy task. You need to get his attention. You need to get him to look into your lens. But the difficult part is that you cannot keep the baby still for more than a second. Another difficult part is that I like to shoot with aperture wide open for portraiture, so any slight movement will result in soft focus images. Anyway, I think I've done a pretty good job for this series of photos. Hope you enjoy them!!

I've special love for black & white photos. And the last 2 photos are my favorite!!

Selamat Hari Raya.
A quick post just to wish the muslim all the world, Happy Eid ul-Fitr, or Selamat Hari Raya to all Malaysia friends.

Eid ul-Fitr (Arabic: عيد الفطر ‘Īdu l-Fiṭr), often abbreviated to Eid, is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting (sawm).

Eid ul-Fitr (Arabic: عيد الفطر ‘Īdu l-Fiṭr), often abbreviated to Eid, is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting (sawm).
Just for your information if you don't know what Eid ul-Fitr means. Eid ul-Fitr is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. It is common to greet people with "Selamat Idul Fitri" or "Salam Aidilfitri" or "Selamat Hari Raya"(in Malaysia).
Ramadan is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking and sexual relations from dawn until sunset. Fasting is intended to teach Muslims about patience, humility, and spirituality. It is a time for Muslims to fast for the sake of God and to offer more prayer than usual. During Ramadan, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.

Yukata Girls
Finally, I decided to go with B&W. I guess I just like B&W photography more.
This series of photos is taken during Tenjin Matsuri (天神祭), one of the biggest summer festival here in Osaka. But I won't write in details about the festival, because I am not a big fan for it. Been there twice, both end up with too many people and too little to see. And this time, my camera end up hunting for yukata girls. Din't make any good photos though. You can imagine, without a fast lens, all I can depend on is high ISO. Push it to the limit, 6400, tight-up my shoulder, and all I pray for is luck.
What I did was pure street photography - point and shoot. No asking for permission. The idea is to get the most natural shot, simple and fast. The results, out of hundreds, only this 3 can be called usable.
Yukata Girls. You will find a lot of them during summer festival in Japan. Typically you can divide them into 2 groups. Modern Gyaru (ギャル), and traditional type.
Gyaru. Straight translation of English term - gal, is refer to young girls in their teens in general, but also used to refer to group of girls with special choice of fashion, usually with overly bleached hair. You can google for the term and you will get a lot of images hits as well, but I think the photo below is enough to tell the story.
On the other hand, traditional type. Judged by the name, without further explanation, you can get the idea, right?
Finally, a group of High School girls, I guess, were happily posed for me, when they noticed a big lens was pointing at them. Say PEACE!!

可欣 @ 4 months
Let's meet this little princess 可欣!! My seniors - Chee Leong & Wuyi's first born. Congratulation again!! If you still remember, I had covered their wedding in Shanghai in 2008. And the bride's photo of Wuyi has been the banner of my blog ever since.
I had the chance to visit them last week on my short trip to Tokyo for job hunting. Really nice to be able to catch up with them, and to play with this new member in Ooi's family. She is so cute and adorable and I just can't resist to have my camera pointing at her all the time. She must be asking in her little head - "Where the hell is this uncle coming from and keep asking me to look at him??" :p
I found that I love baby's photo in B&W. I tried to minimize post processing, but I just cannot help pushing the greyscale button in Lightroom for almost all the photos, and this blog entry end up all B&W. Anyway, hope you like it and thanks for dropping by :)
